Leather Dimepiece

So a couple nights ago was my man's birthday! I obviously wanted to look fab, but I decided to use that night to prove to all the ladies out there that they can wear leather in the summer!

Okay ladies, the last thing any of us wants to do is get all dolled up for a night on the town when it’s still 90 degrees outside!  If you’re running out of summer dresses and don’t want to feel underdressed for your first date with the cutie from your psychology class (or your guys birthday extravaganza) listen closely.

I’m a sucker for neutrals and this tailored jacket inspired me to prove to women everywhere that they can wear leather in the summer.  Yes, it should be worn sparingly, but that doesn’t mean you can’t spruce up your denim shorts with an edgy jacket.

It seems like college students are always walking everywhere so pairing the outfit with a comfy wedge heel can dress up the outfit without creating an uncomfortable evening for your tootsies.

The cream fitted camisole was perfect for tucking into high-waisted shorts, and the neutral brown buttons were a nice contrast to the camisole and camel colored jacket.

It’s important to note that the hair is down and relaxed.  Even though it is date night, it’s still summer! Don’t overwork yourself and let the outfit speak for itself.

Lastly, it would be a shame to not pair at least a few accessories with this outfit.  Chunky watches are my weakness, and a brown or gold watch would fit with the entire look.  Because the collar of the jacket is higher on the back of the neck, I prefer little pearl studs.  They are noticeable without stealing the spotlight from the zippers and snaps on the jacket.

If all neutrals aren’t your cup of tea, I suggest adding a pop of color to your lips.  This will not only stand out with your new summer tan, but, when you’re laughing at Mr. Psychology’s joke, he’ll be sure to notice those pearly whites.

If all goes well, you’ll be searching for date number two’s outfit in no time!
