ChalkTalk Tuesday #5

First of all, F. Scott Fitzgerald was a genius.  That being said, I love this quote in his book The Great Gatsby.  If you haven't had the opportunity to soak up the book, clear your schedule because it is worth it!

"No amount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart."
    - The Great Gatsby

Being in the College of Journalism it would be a sin for me to say that I do not like reading but I can tell you that even if you have a hectic schedule, are a slow reader, and aren't known for picking up books then feel no shame! This book is very short and because of that, Fitzgerald uses every single line of writing to its fullest.

I love the quote because it shows that no one can truly know what is going on in your heart except you.  The fact that he calls it a "ghostly" heart is just poetic genius in my opinion! ;)
But seriously what you store up in your heart is your own for no one else to see if you choose and that kind of spooky truth always gets to me!

I hope all who saw the film were still compelled to read the book!
