This isn't my usual type of blog post but I had to share.
My sister, J, always sends me the most interesting articles, and this was no exception.
If you haven't heard already, some undergraduates as North Carolina State University are developing a nail polish that can identify the chemicals of the date rape drug, a.k.a. Rohypnol. (Waahhh??)
I know, I was freaking out, too!
The dream team behind the idea has stated that "In the U.S., 18% of women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime." This was a big enough push to get their creative juices flowing and people are responding in awe at this new (and fashionable) way to protect against rape.
Known as Undercover Colors, the polish is designed to determine whether a drink has been drugged by dipping a finger into the drink.
Want to know how I feel about the idea in one image?
I LOVE IT!
While I wish I would have thought of it, I will settle for buying a bottle at my local drugstore and swirling around my pinky in every drink that someone tries to hand me.
Thanks again, guys!
xo,
