The Om-Mazing Yoga Challenge

I have a theory that yoga is best practiced at sunset.

Don't let my super awesome hair fool you, I'm a total yoga newbie. Not only am I usually the wiggle worm in the back of the class who can't balance one one foot, I'm also the one who gawks at the rest of the group for twisting into pretzels instead of eating them.

I don't practice as consistently as most yoga nerds, but I'm learning to be patient with my progress. It is a great time to relax and unwind after a long day, and it doesn't have to be about meditation or deep thinking to be beneficial.

There are a lot of people who throw shade at the idea of yoga, but I'm telling you, it's more difficult than it looks! I am not very flexible, but yoga is teaching me to push myself a little more each session. Just like with anything else, it feels great to track your progress along the way.

If you grew up playing sports, or are used to exercising by running around, yoga will be a new challenge for you. I suggest power yoga because it is a little more active, and the music is upbeat. I have been following a particular yoga playlist that has a faster tempo, and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Power Yoga Playlist

~ Ladies, get over the fact that you're not the most graceful swan in the land and try it out anyway.
~ Gentlemen, if you're not completely sold on the idea, may I remind you that there's a 5 minute "relaxation" period at the end, or as I like to call it, nap time!
