The term "fedora" seemed to be lost on everyone when I wore this hat last weekend. I was going out with some friends for a birthday party and decided to wear this hat with what I thought was a fairly cute "going out" outfit. When describing this accessory, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely not a cowboy hat. Nevertheless, I must have had at least 15 or 20 comments about it being just that. The comments varied from "howdy, ma'am" to "I like your cowboy hat" and more Garth Brooks oriented sayings that I can't even remember. (It's important to note that none of these comments came from actual cowboys.)
I never got a solid compliment about the fedora and decided that I would try to embrace my "cowboy" hat with this outfit. I bundled a plaid blanket scarf from Marshall's and added a denim jacket and a pair of cowboy ankle booties to complete the look. It was never my plan to put a western spin on this outfit, but the next time I cut a rug, I'll be sure to bring my Stetson.
